So, I admit it.  I’ve become a big Ted Dekker fan.  Anyone else out there?  Thr3e has been my favorite by far, I also loved the Circle Trilogy, cared slightly less for the Project Showdown series, and am currently reading Adam.

One problem I’ve noticed though is that reading books like Dekker’s that are incredibly suspenseful and exciting might be spoiling me a bit.  Reading something like To Kill a Mockingbird has suddenly become a little less appealing.  Something to think about at least.

Anyone have a good book suggestion?  Leave a comment with your favorite book you’ve ever read.  I need some recommendations :-D .

Just so you know, I love using “…” and brackets.  I don’t know if you’ve figured that out by now, but I thought I’d make sure we were all on the same page there.  Good.

January 8th:

[it was cold and I have nothing more to say about that.]

January 9th:

Patti played in her first ever Upward basketball game and was by far the cutest kid out there.  She even had a bloody lip–how, we’re not quite sure, since we couldn’t ever remember any sort of contact that would have caused it other than herself just biting it ;) .  But she did great, and we had fun watching her.

But alas, the time for good friends to return home came that day as well.  Danielle had to go home back to school and regular life.  That was one awesome surprise, and if she plans on doing it again anytime in the next month or so that would be ridiculously awesome :-D .  For some reason I doubt it’ll happen in the next few months, but I can hope, right?

Love ya, #6!  And I hope you have an awesome next semester :) .

And finally, today.  January 10th:

[yay for self-timers, tripods, and backyards where no one can see me taking pictures of myself.]

Today I heard something at church that I needed to hear.  God has me right where He wants me.  It doesn’t always feel like it.  Because apparently I can become very discontent with where I am.  I want to stop that.  I want to be joyful wherever He puts me.  Anyone else?

Good night.

Random days in January

January 7th, 2010 § 4

So yes, I realize that I haven’t posted for the past two days.  Have I already failed in my photo challenge for the year?  No, because I still took pictures for the past few days :-D .

January 5th: Danielle and I fell asleep and woke up after midnight to find my dad watching a bizarre movie.  So naturally we had to watch it with him.  And this was our reaction:

January 6th: We had a fun outing to a mall, drank Starbucks, and decided to live in a Barnes and Nobles someday.  And then we rented lots of these for old times’ sake:

January 7th: We opened a time capsule that we made 2 or 3 years ago, I forget which.  Cute stuff.  We wrote notes to each other :-D .

But this one is in a close second for my favorite photo of the day that I took:

[yeah, that's the one I got when we went out to eat tonight.  depressing, no?]

And these are my favorite photos of the day that I did not take (thanks Beth):

Good night.

Where am I?
