Well, as most of you probably know, I’ve been a horrible slacker when it comes to growing up and taking responsibility for my life. Yeah, pathetic, I know. Anyhow, driving and getting my license was one of the issues.
So last Monday my mom marched into my bedroom and announced that I would be taking my driver’s test the following Friday. I protested, complained, and made excuses. All to no avail.
Parallel parking was the worst. The first day I spent an hour in our driveway with my mom trying over and over again. And to be honest, I won’t be attempting it anytime soon in the real world. But for some reason the state of Texas thinks that I need to know how to do it. So I learned how.
I should also mention the fact that I’ve been terrified of the lady who works in the driver’s license office. She’s always there, and she’s never happy. And I really wasn’t excited about the idea of having to take a test with her in the passenger seat.
But alas…I had to do it. I went, took the test, and passed. The end.

And now I’m happy I did it
.
I’ve also had this massive cardboard box sitting in my room since we got back from FASA this summer. I decided that it was time to look through all of my notebooks and letters and everything else that I had stashed all over my room. Unfortunately the box was too big and too heavy and it just sat there for months. So I finally decided to do something with it
.

Most of the stuff inside was old letters, ballet programs, and random pieces of paper I had some sort of emotional attachment to for some reason. But I also decided to put these in there…

Whenever I heard Mr. Larimer talking about how all of the trophies from tournaments would end up in a cardboard box, I never thought it would happen so soon. But almost all of them did. Weird how things happen like that, isn’t it? Well, it’s officially up in the attic now.

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4

Yes, that’s right. I got to go to a concert, courtesy of the Hammonds. It was in a gigantic church.

Bebo Norman was there.

As was Natalie Grant.

And Jeremy Camp.

And I decided that I still think Gilbert is an amazing camera. I think I’ll keep him.
