fire

I debated for 4 years.  My family has been involved in debate now for 5 years.  Most debaters pride themselves on the amount of evidence that they’re able to haul around each year pertaining to the resolution for that school year.  As a result, we’ve accumulated quite a bit of evidence about everything from medical malpractice law to environmental policy.  My father would most assuredly refer to all of this evidence as “trash”.

So, we got a few friends together and decided to take the appropriate actions.

I think that they were happy when it was all gone.

glasses

About two weeks ago, I was cleaning my glasses, and they snapped in two right in my hands.  Naturally, I was a little upset.  And half-blind.  So, I finally managed to find some new frames that I thought were okay, and had been waiting expectantly for them to come in.  Driving, working, going to class, and doing pretty much everything else had been a little more challenging, but I survived.

Today, I finally got my new frames.  Good vision is underrated, I found out.  I really like being able to see.

My conversation at dinner this evening went something like this:

Katy: “Oh, I didn’t realize your new glasses came in!”

Toni: “Do you like them?”

Katy: “Yes.”

Toni: “Do they make me look smarter?”

*silence*

Katy: “You’re blonde.”

That was the end of the conversation apparently.

Last week I had the privilege of doing my first engagement shoot for a friend of mine.  I’ve always loved engagement pictures.  So much joy and emotion contained in a single picture.  We got up nice and early to avoid direct sunlight and Texas heat, but both eventually found us :) .  We were able to get some great shots regardless, though.  Here are a few of my favorites…

Thank you, Farah and Chris, for letting me capture this special time in your life!
